Project Norden is a veteran-led charity bringing military and police veterans together through commemorative service, connection and shared purpose.
We tend the graves and memorials of those who served before us, research and share their stories, and create meaningful opportunities for veterans to reconnect with mates, community and purpose.
Because remembrance isn't only about looking back, it's also about looking after those who are still here.
More than tending graves
What started with two mates tending local veterans' graves became something much bigger.
They found purpose in the work, connection in doing it alongside each other, and meaning in learning the stories behind the headstones.
Today, Project Norden creates opportunities for military and police veterans to come together through mateship, remembrance and shared purpose.
Sometimes connection starts by simply standing beside a mate and doing something worthwhile together.

You don't need experience in grave tending or military history. We'll show you the ropes, explain how the work is done safely and respectfully, and connect with Project Norden activities where possible.
Sometimes the hardest part is simply turning up. We'll take it from there.
Why Norden?
Project Norden is proudly named in honour of Private Richard Leslie Norden VC
A Vietnam veteran who later served as a police officer, Richard Norden demonstrated extraordinary courage during the Battle of Fire Support Base Coral in 1968, repeatedly putting himself in danger to rescue and recover his mates.
His legacy reflects the values at the heart of Project Norden - service, remembrance and mateship.
